01

Export the Coinbase transaction history

Coinbase’s current help directs customers to its Statements page. It says you can download an existing monthly statement as CSV or generate a custom statement by asset, transaction type and date.

  1. Use Coinbase’s current instructions.Menus change; the official help page is the safer source for today’s route.
  2. Choose CSV and the period you need to review.Earlier acquisitions can affect the interpretation of later holdings and disposals.
  3. Keep an untouched original.Work from a copy if you need to inspect or reconcile the file separately.
02

Check what the file does not know

A transaction export is evidence from one account and one report format. It is not automatically a complete history of every wallet, exchange or off-platform transfer you have used.

Coverage

Confirm the dates, assets and transaction types match the period you intended to export.

Transfers

Assets moved to or from another venue may need records from that other source.

Corrections

If the statement itself looks wrong, reconcile it with Coinbase before relying on the result.

Privacy

Never send an unredacted transaction export, wallet address, seed phrase, private key, password or API key. Do not upload the file to an untrusted conversion site.

03

Try the demo, then choose your file

If you want to learn the interface first, choose “Try Demo First” inside the app. When you are ready, use the file-based import and select the supported Coinbase retail transaction-history CSV from Files. The other supported exchange formats have their own checks and this guide does not make an unlisted Coinbase report compatible.

Crypto Analyzer does not ask for your Coinbase password or trading access. Read the full boundaries in the privacy section.

Network boundary

Public market-data and FX providers may receive limited request and connection data, such as symbols, dates, quote currencies, an IP address, and device or usage metadata, under their own policies. If you configure a provider-specific market-data API key, it is sent only to that provider for those requests.

04

Treat the output as a review surface, not a verdict

The app can turn supported rows into a record-derived portfolio view, group imported fees, label estimates for other trading friction, organise UK capital-gains records using same-day, 30-day and Section 104 matching, and export supporting detail. Those outputs still depend on the source file and the assumptions behind the calculation.

  • Supported CSV imports for Coinbase retail and Advanced Trade, Coinbase Pro, Crypto.com App Token Wallet, Binance Spot transaction history and Kraken Ledgers
  • Exact-decimal UK disposal calculations using same-day, 30-day and Section 104 matching
  • Filing Pack exports with SA108-aligned summaries, disposal detail, methodology and data-quality checks
  • Tax-year history, allowance usage, potential-disposal modelling and 30-day rebuy-window review
  • Face ID or passcode protection, Privacy Mode, App Switcher blur and wallet-address redaction
  • VoiceOver, Larger Text, Dark Interface and Reduced Motion support
  • An optional local tax-deadline reminder when you choose

Before you rely on the import

Does importing a CSV connect Crypto Analyzer to Coinbase?

No. You choose a file. The app does not require an exchange login or trading access.

Does the CSV prove my current balance?

No. The view is derived from the rows in the selected export. Missing periods, external wallets, unsupported activity or incorrect rows can change the result.

Is the UK capital-gains record output a tax return?

No. Matching records, estimates and exports are review tools. Crypto Analyzer does not submit returns or determine your obligations.

If the file is not recognised

  • Confirm it is a Coinbase retail transaction-history CSV, not a PDF or unrelated tax document.
  • Confirm the export covers the dates needed for the records you are reviewing.
  • Try “Try Demo First” to distinguish an import problem from a general app problem.
  • Keep the exact error text and note your app version and device OS.

Still stuck? Email support, but never send an unredacted transaction export, wallet address, seed phrase, private key, password or api key.
